It is my pleasure to announce the appointment of Michael Mulford as PCI’s New Country Director in Tanzania.  Michael will arrive to Tanzania on or around June 10, 2013 and have the opportunity of a 2-3 week transition with Jenny, who departs on July 1.

Michael’s background and experience is ideal for PCI’s program in Tanzania.  He recently served as a Country Director for Food for the Hungary in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.  There he led the design, development and implementation of a 5-year, 300+ staff, $57M Title II program that included food security, health, and water and sanitation and rehabilitation programming.  He has served as a Program Director (DRC), leading teams in 5 territories of the DRC,  and as a Food Security Coordinator, where he provided technical and management support to USDA, USAID and State Department funded programs.  He also has experience in the humanitarian assistance arena, supporting start-up, coordination and management support to a wide range of humanitarian responses.

Michael is currently completing his Masters of Science at Cornell University, where his research focus is in agriculture, risk, smallholder access, agriculture value chain integration, and food systems dynamics.
Please join me in wishing Michael a very warm welcome to PCI.
