Collaboration is key in our approach to development. That’s why we’re always thrilled to work with partners to solve big problems like preterm birth – which is the #1 cause of death for children under five. Our Every Preemie project is doing just that. Its goal is to seek out and advocate for life saving steps that reduce deaths due to preterm birth.
Check out our latest infographic describing why this work is essential, and what Every Preemie is doing about it:
With Every Preemie, we are working in partnership with the Global Alliance to Prevent Prematurity and Stillbirth (GAPPS) and the American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM) across 24 countries around the world, starting with Ethiopia, India, and Malawi. We recently convened a program advisory committee to help answer the question:
“What do we want to learn at the end of five years? What do people want to know in order to save lives?”
We brought together top experts in maternal and newborn health to advise Every Preemie’s efforts strategically, technically, and programmatically. USAID, Saving Newborn Lives, March of Dimes, the Population Council, Jhpiego, and the MDG Health Alliance are just a few organizations represented on the committee.
