As the aftermath of the devastating earthquake in Nepal continues to unfold, PCI is partnering with organizations on-the-ground to aid in the immediate and long-term recovery efforts.
“Our thoughts are with the people of Nepal during this tragedy, and we are working with our programs in northern India on the border, and working with our partners in-country, to assist in the recovery and rebuilding efforts,” said George Guimaraes, President & CEO of PCI.
Specifically PCI is coordinating with AmeriCares to get critical medical supplies to overwhelmed hospitals and clinics to care for the injured. Through Build Change, we are sending a team of engineers to begin the rebuilding efforts and get people back in their homes. And we’re gearing up to rebuild better than before, using earthquake resistant construction techniques as we did following the Haiti earthquake, and currently in our Guatemala Barrio Mio project.
