What better way to support our work to improve the lives of millions around the world than with a fun-filled day at the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club? More than 500 supporters and friends of PCI gathered at our annual Day at the Races fundraiser last Friday afternoon. Guests of all ages were dressed to impress in vibrant sundresses and fresh linen suits. A sea of bright, decorative hats lined the crowd, as ladies wore their finest head attire to give their look a final touch of “oomph.”

The results of our global impact shone throughout the event. Pictures of PCI beneficiaries adorned the tables, from smiling members of our WE groups in Botswana, to families benefiting from our urban upgrading work in Guatemala, and mothers able to provide healthy lives for their children through our maternal health initiatives in India. It was a day to celebrate these accomplishments and support the growth of PCI’s work to reach millions more in the years ahead.

Energies were high as the races began and bets were placed. In between races, guests participated in a silent auction and opportunity drawing. A variety of exciting items to be won were generously donated from PCI supporters, including vacations to the Caribbean, airline tickets, spa treatments and lavish pieces of art. All of the proceeds raised go towards our mission to alleviate hunger and hardship, and improve health for the most vulnerable communities around the world.

Thank you to all of those who attended and to the dedicated volunteers who made this event possible.
